Since the radio interview in 2011, the two underground artists stayed connected and built strong bonds by simply “keeping their word” and being consistent with communication.
Focused business conversations of how/when to bring their community efforts and muzik to elevated levels and make greater impact were regular whenever they spoke.
These discussions were regular and had to be strategically planned due to extremely tight schedules. Eventually, ideas and track concepts were being pieced together (long distance) while both continued to handle local studio obligations.
Neither artist had their own studio equipment, or an “in-house” audio engineer to initiate the long-distance project so attempting to collab from two different cities created difficulties. It became evident that they needed to plan and implement the project another way.
Both artists considering themselves as being “Head strong. Hands on. Head on.” writers/lyricists decided it was time to make some serious sacrifices, meet in person, and get these projects handled.
In 2015, Lai'Lo arrived at LaGuardia Airport from Chicago O'Hare Airport. She had finally made it to The Birthplace of Hip Hop. That same day, studio time was being planned. It was time to get to work.
